Unit Management
All Sea Cadet Units are individual registered charities set up to work with young people aged 12-18 (Juniors 10-12) by providing nautically based activities and training with a distinctly ‘naval’ feel.
As a charity it is a requirement to have Trustees who oversee the business and management of the Unit, and in the Sea Cadets these responsibilities are carried out by the Unit Management Committee (UMC). This means that the UMC is responsible for the day-to-day management of the charity, which is in essence like running a small business.
The UMC needs volunteers too, especially professional people with management expertise, or experience of fund-raising and charities. For more information go to:
