The Sea Cadets

SCTC Inskip

The National Sea Cadet Training Centre INSKIP is located in the Lancashire countryside approximately half way between Preston and Blackpool. The site was a former Fleet Air Arm airfield known as HMS Nightjar and is now a tri-service communication centre called DCSA Radio Inskip. The centre is manned by a permanent staff of seven who are assisted by a team of volunteer adults who form the Training Support Staff.

Courses are run for Cadets and adult volunteers and courses available at SCTC Inskip include Cook/Steward, Expedition, Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing & Abseiling, Meteorology and RYA shorebased Day Skipper to Yachtmaster. Career courses are also available including the Senior Command Course and the National Officer Selection Boards. In the summer a wide variety of camps and continuation training for units take place at SCTC INSKIP.
